Discover the secrets of Cabo. This peninsula has plenty of history, it was first called California in 1538, shortly after Hernan Cortez
headed the first Spanish expedition to La Paz. Thus, the Sea of Cortez is named after the great Spanish conquero. Later, during the XVI and XVII centuries several expeditions crossed these deserts. During the XVII century the peninsula as colonized by Jesuits, who founded 17 missions near the peninsula's Oasis. One of these missions as named San Jose del Cabo it was built in 1730 around a colonial main square. Both San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas are joined by the corridor, a 20 mile transpeninsular highway that overlooks sixteen splendid beaches.
